Ok, so I have to admit… This week has been a little TOO MUCH for me! First, both girls got their ears pierced, and they did an AWESOME job! Let me explain… I’ve held this notion about the idea of piercing ears: When they want to, we’ll do it. Don’t get mad at me mom, but I have nightmares (ok, not really) about my first experience with ear piercing! 🙂 Anyways, so Anna said Monday, “Ok, I’m ready to get my ears pierced!” I inwardly thought, “Oh no! Not yet! You’ll freak out! You start preschool tomorrow, and I simply can’t do two big girl things in one 24 hour period.” Needless to say, I smiled and explained what would happen, and she still was ready to go, so off we went! After Anna was done, Emily jumped up on the chair, so she got her’s done too! AHHHHHHH! TWO big,brave girls! I could hardly believe it!
The next day, Anna began her preschool experience. We took pictures before we left and texted them to the grandparents. Off we went… Dropped Anna off, and I’m SO glad I made it to the van before sobbing. Again, I have to admit… I was teary dropping her off, but NO ONE knows that! 🙂
With the whole preschool thing starting, I realized that I didn’t have a good routine for myself. Now, I made sure that the girls always had a good morning routine, but somehow I left myself out of the equation. So, it has been a lot of rushing around for me, which is something I REALLY despise in the morning. We’re still working on it! 🙂
Then, on top of it all, I’m taking my last grad class for my Master’s Degree I started almost 7 YEARS AGO!! Who waits that long to finish? Oh yeah, ME! Who waits until they have 3 kids running around? Oh yeah, ME! Anyways, this class is proving to be quite the booger complete with an uncooperative prof who, I think, believes me to be a second class moron. Oh well… 🙂
In spite of it all, I’m grateful for my Heavenly Father who hears me. He knows my name and even how many hairs are on my head. He knows what I can and cannot handle. So, when I face more than my humanness can seemingly handle I remember some key verses from Psalm 62. May they encourage you as they do me…
Psalm 62: 1, 2, & 8
Truly my soul finds rest in God;
my salvation comes from him.
Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.
Trust in him at all times, you people;
pour out your hearts to him,
for God is our refuge.
