Conversations

Standard

So, the last couple of months have brought some seriously funny, and of course, serious conversations in our household.  Here’s one from Emily…  She was sitting on Josh’s lap, looking up at him, admiring his handsome face.  She told him, “Daddy, you have snow in your beard.”  He has a ever growing white spot in his goatee, which I suppose is what she was referring to!  🙂  Emily was pretty insistent that Josh needed to wash his face, but we then had to explain that white hair is what happens when people get older!  HA!

Just yesterday, the three kiddos and I were driving over to the church, and we got into a talk about how God is everywhere.  Anna and Emily were going back and forth with questions, “Is God in that tree?”  “Is God in my bedroom when I sleep?”  “Is God in this van?”  “Is God in the bathroom?”  That last question got us giggling for a few minutes… 🙂  Then, Anna got very serious and asked, “Well, if God is everywhere, does that mean that God’s heart is the whole world?”

What an incredible thought…  Just because we know God is omnipresent and can see Him and His handiwork in all creation, we can rest with the assurance that we are His heart.  He cares for us, He knows our names, the very number of hairs on our head He knows.  I’m grateful that I can be reminded of God’s love for the world by a little 5 year old girl, I get to call my daughter.  Thank you, Anna for the reminder.  🙂

“O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!  You have set your glory above the heavens.  From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise…”

Psalm 8:1 & 2
